Jörnträhus takes a break in 2026

Jörnträhus to suspend operations in 2026

Jörnträhus will cease operations in 2026, as the company has too low capacity utilisation to continue operating profitably.

The residential market has improved slightly in 2025, but Jörnträhus lacks the larger projects among corporate customers to have long-term occupancy.

- "It is of course a very sad announcement to make. But housing construction is at record-low levels and we cannot see a sufficiently clear brightening in 2026 to be able to continue the business with profitability," says Anders Lundkvist, acting CEO of Jörnträhus.

What happens to staff?
- The staff has been dismissed according to previous notice and is now exempt from work. Everyone is entitled to apply for job coaching via the Social Security Council, which we pay for as an employer.

Why do you call it a pause and not a closure?
- The company still exists and we believe that our offering will eventually have a place in the market, both for holiday and residential buildings and for apartment buildings. Unfortunately, we have seen a long-term downward trend in demand for Jörnträhus products. This means that we now judge that it is not possible to run the company in a sustainable way.

What about guarantees, complaints or after-sales service?
- We take full responsibility for our commitments if such cases arise.

Is it possible to submit requests for future projects?
- Yes, it is. During the period when the company is paused, it is possible to send enquiries to me, Anders, who is acting CEO of . No houses will be built by Jörnträhus in 2026, but we are handling enquiries under the Contractors offer during the year. And if the volume and combination of private houses and apartment blocks from the corporate side becomes large enough, the business can be revived.

Finally, Jörnträhus would like to thank all employees, customers, partners and suppliers for a long and good co-operation. Hopefully we will meet again in the future in some form.
