A house that responds to the challenges of the place
In the report "Norrländsk kvalitet på platån" (Northern quality on the plateau), Johan and Katarina build their Skärudden house on a hillside overlooking the lake. The topography of the site placed demands on angles, placement and sightlines - demands that the model was adapted to meet.
The special angular design of the shed suited the site perfectly. The client customised the kitchen and changed window placements to get the views and space right.
The customer report also emphasises that the house feels 'substantial' - many visitors have commented that it has a very different feel to many other holiday homes.

Holiday home with personalised details
From the second report, we take inspiration from how the Marklund family gave Skärudden its unique character. A raised ceiling in the living room, an extra door to the terrace, the choice to combine facade panelling and interior choices such as birch plywood for the walls and ceiling. They also describe how the assembly phase was quick and precise, with the garage being erected in just a few hours and the main building weatherproofed in just eight hours.
- "We fell for the Skärudden house model and, together with Jörnträhus, we adapted to our wishes for higher ceilings in the living room, more spacious areas and an extra door from the bathroom to the terrace," says Maria. "The house really blends in with its surroundings - perhaps because of its special shape and the choice of panelling we made," adds Johan.
