As part of the expansion phase we are carrying out with a new production line and the strong order intake at the turn of the year, we at Jörnträhus have focused hard on finding and recruiting qualified employees who want to help us on this journey. In the last few months alone, we have managed to recruit around ten industrial workers and salaried employees to our production and the latest addition is Gustav Fahlgren in the role of designer.
Gustav Fahlgren, 29, had finished his studies in Uppsala and was working as a carpenter at Contractor when he came into contact with our CEO Mikael Lindberg last summer. Gustav, who had felt for some time that he wanted to try something different and would fit well at Jörnträhus, was therefore offered the opportunity to change professional role and employer.
- There are several advantages to Jörnträhus being in the same group as Contractor. One of the biggest is that we can "borrow" competent employees from each other. In this way, our joint employees can constantly develop in new roles or in new locations and still remain within the group instead of having to seek something completely different. It's a win-win situation that benefits everyone," says Mikael Lindberg.
Now Gustav is one of four designers who realise house dreams from our Skellefteå office.
Tell us Gustav, how does it feel to start at Jörnträhus?
- It feels great and very educational. This role is new to me so there's a lot to learn at the same time, but it helps a little that I have experience of working with the craft before. And it's fun to do something different.
What do you do when you are not working?
- Then I'm usually out in nature. Then I exercise quite a lot, play some ball sports and hang out with my friends and do things like that.
Do you have any unknown talent that we will get to know here in the future?
- Wow, no idea! None that I have found so far. But I might find some unexpected talent here at work, who knows!
We hope! Last question and perhaps the most important: If you had a superpower. What would you wish it was?
- Super strong. That would be so handy!
