After a tough year last year, things have turned around for Jörnträhus in 2021. Already in the first quarter, order intake for the full year is SEK 63 million, which is more than in the whole of 2020.

- The goal of having an annual turnover of 200 million by 2024 is definitely within reach and we continue to recruit new employees in Jörn, says Jörnträhus CEO Mikael Lindberg.

Like many others, 2020 was a tough year for Jörnträhus, leading the company to post a loss. To reverse the negative trend, structural changes were made to both the organisation and working methods, which have quickly had the desired effect.

- We have reviewed the sales organisation and recruited more salespeople to the home office, while at the same time ending the cooperation with some of our agents. In addition, we have created clearer offers for both the private market and professional builders, which has made sales work easier," says Mikael Lindberg.

Development of new house models

Jörnträhus sales figures have increased in both holiday homes and the Pro concept of prefabricated elements and kits for builders and developers.

- Among other things, we receive a lot of enquiries related to apartment projects and our concept houses on the apartment side. We are already building a backlog of orders for 2022, but we must constantly continue to develop new interesting house models, instead of stopping and being satisfied," says Mikael Lindberg.

Reaching the target of a turnover of SEK 200 million by 2024 will require both investments in the Jörn plant and new recruitment. Mikael Lindberg explains:

- We are investing in expanding production capacity, with more production lines in existing premises. In addition, we have recruited, among others, design engineers, designers and project managers with real cutting-edge expertise.

Success creates local employment

Recruitment efforts are an important factor in continuing to gear up. In the near future, Jörnträhus will recruit a number of wood industry workers for house production at the site.

- For us, it is obviously positive to be able to create new jobs in Jörn and we are happy that new employees come from the local area. Together with other companies in the Contractor Group, we work for a vibrant Norrland and it feels good to be able to contribute to employment in places like Jörn. At the same time, we are working on our internal cultural work, where we look at how we are towards each other and our customers. We want to have a strong employer brand, which both attracts new people and makes those who are already here feel good as good ambassadors for Jörnträhus, says Mikael Lindberg.
