We at Jörnträhus like challenges and solving our clients' various wishes. The projects we have had the privilege of working on in Iceland have been particularly interesting as we have had to ensure wind loads and anchorages for the extreme environment that this particular construction site offers.
During the autumn, further houses from us have been completed in Iceland. It is the house model Strycksele semi-detached house which, with the help of our partner Byggruppen i Norr, was installed for the customer.
The advantage of blockhouses is the fast assembly time, which appeals to buyers as the seasons can be fickle in the open landscape on which the houses are placed. There has been close co-operation between Jörnträhus's designers, the buyer's contractor and the quality manager, not least to ensure wind loads and anchorages.
The kit was shipped by container by sea, which also poses additional requirements than normal - but everything has been solved very easily as we have experience of previous deliveries by ship.
