Mariana Engman is the new project manager at Jörnträhus and will in her job strengthen and clarify our delivery process. She has previously worked as a designer and project manager at WSP.
What attracted you to apply for the job?
- It sounded like an exciting role at an interesting company that is moving forward. I've been at WSP for a long time and wanted to try something new. At Jörnträhus, I get a completely new role that I can help shape myself, it feels very inspiring.
What are your tasks as a project manager?
- I coordinate and take a holistic approach to projects. I make sure that we deliver on time and get paid for it. The idea is also to make things clearer for our customers. I become their contact and then distribute jobs within the organisation.
You have worked for 13.5 years as a designer and project manager in construction at WSP. What do you bring from there to your new role at Jörnträhus?
- "My experience as a designer means that I have technical expertise that will be of great benefit to me at Jörnträhus. I've also worked with project management, which involves a lot of coordination and contacts with consultants and clients, tasks that are similar to what I'll be doing as a project manager now. What makes Jörnträhus different is that I get to be involved all the way from when an assignment is sold until the entire building is completed. It feels fun!
What are your first projects?
- I'm currently working on Kvarnbacken and Birkarlen in Kåge. Soon I will also be involved in Sidsjöängen in Sundsvall where we are building terraced house apartments.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
- Spending time with family and friends. My partner and I have two daughters, 7 and 10 years old. We like travelling, both in Sweden and abroad. In winter we like to go skiing in Åre and Hemavan. This spring we're going to rebuild the house, so we'll be busy with that.
